Position: Trusts Fundraiser

Location: Remote, with occasional travel to Stirling Office

Reports to: CEO

Salary: £32,000-£34,000 (pro-rata)

Contract Type: 17.5 hours per week (0.5 FTE)

PLUS Forth Valley is looking for a skilled and values-driven Trusts Fundraiser to secure vital income that supports the charity’s inclusive services for children, young people, and young adults with disabilities and additional support needs. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced bid writer to take ownership of a key income stream and make a meaningful impact through their work.

You’ll be part of a friendly, committed team that is passionate about inclusion, independence, and supporting families across the Forth Valley area.

About PLUS Forth Valley

PLUS is a well-established local charity based in Stirling, supporting children, young people, and young adults aged 0–35 with disabilities, ASN, or long-term health conditions. The charities core values of Integrity, Respect, Compassion,and Dependability are at the heart of everything they do. Through a mix of one-to-one and group sessions from crafts and sensory play to cinema trips and outdoor adventures, they help participants build life skills, confidence, and social connection.

The organisation currently support over 240 individuals and their families through their programmes, offering not only enriching experiences but also much-needed respite to parents and carers. Their work is delivered by a dedicated team of 14 core staff and over 50 sessional workers. They are now investing in their fundraising capacity to support a more sustainable future — and this role is central to that vision.

Responsibilities of the Trusts Fundraiser

This is a strategic and hands-on role for an experienced trust fundraiser who is confident in identifying opportunities, crafting persuasive applications, and managing relationships with funders. You’ll work closely with the CEO and wider team to align funding bids with PLUS’s priorities, ensuring a healthy income pipeline that supports core delivery and new developments.

You’ll be the charity’s key point of contact for trust and foundation funders — building strong, long-term relationships through excellent communication, tailored proposals, and high-quality reporting that brings PLUS’s impact to life.

Key Responsibilities:

Funding Identification and Application Development

* Research and prioritise new funding opportunities that align with PLUS’s mission and strategic goals.
* Prepare high-quality, tailored funding applications that clearly communicate the charity’s impact, need, and vision.
* Maintain a robust pipeline of funding prospects, tracking deadlines and submission progress.

Funder Stewardship and Relationship Management

* Build and nurture relationships with both new and existing funders, becoming a trusted point of contact.
* Ensure timely, accurate, and engaging reporting that demonstrates impact and accountability.
* Represent PLUS professionally in written and verbal communications with funders and partners.

Collaboration and Impact Communication

* Work closely with service delivery staff to gather data, case studies, and stories that strengthen applications and reports.
* Support colleagues, such as Project Coordinators, in developing smaller bids or reporting contributions.
* Help refine internal processes for tracking outcomes and capturing participant feedback.

What does PLUS Forth Valley need from you?

Essential Experience and Skills:

* A strong track record of securing income from trusts and foundations, ideally including six-figure and multi-year grants
* Excellent written communication skills — able to write with clarity, warmth, and emotional impact
* Experience managing funder relationships and delivering high-quality reports
* Highly organised, able to manage multiple deadlines, and work independently
* Confident using data and stories to evidence the impact of services
* A strong values fit with PLUS and understanding of the issues facing disabled young people and their families

Desirable Experience and Skills:

* Knowledge of the disability, health, education or youth sector
* Familiarity with CRMs or using spreadsheets to track funding progress
* Experience drafting or interpreting project budgets
* Experience contributing to strategic fundraising planning
