Overview

Domestic Violence Advocacy and Outreach Manager Needed for Facility Providing Shelter, Transitional Housing and Support Services. Job ID: 24349. Pay Rate: $81,477-$105,920. Location: Onsite in the Greater Seattle Area, within an hour’s travel to the facility. Employment Type: Direct Hire. Schedule: 40 Hours, Mon-Fri 9am-5pm with On-Call Responsibilities One Week per Month; accessible 24/7.

A 24-hour facility providing emergency shelter, transitional housing, and support services for women, children, and youth impacted by domestic violence (DV), substance abuse, inadequate healthcare, family separation, child abuse, neglect, and poverty. Services include crisis intervention, case management, advocacy-based counseling, legal advocacy, and stabilization resources.

Programs provided include stability, skill-building, and advocacy, empowering individuals to move forward.

The DV Legal Advocacy and Outreach Manager leads the legal advocacy and outreach programs, supervises staff, manages budgets, and provides direct client services. This role involves working with DV survivors on legal cases, facilitating access to transitional housing or emergency shelter (including hotel placements), and managing community outreach efforts. The position includes on-call responsibilities and requires leadership in program administration and compliance.


Responsibilities

* DV Legal Advocacy Program Management: Train and supervise staff supporting clients with DV-related legal matters, including protection orders, parenting plans, safety planning, court accompaniment, and hearing preparation.
* Administrative oversight: Manage contract compliance, data quality, and budget oversight.
* Outreach and Partnership Development: Build partnerships with community organizations, legal services, and DV coalitions to identify and support clients for transitional housing and emergency shelter; facilitate public awareness campaigns and community education on DV.
* Emergency Housing Support: Oversee procedures for emergency hotel placements for DV survivors when shelters are at capacity; conduct case consultations, review client data, and ensure budget adherence.
* Facility and Team Support: Foster a safe, supportive atmosphere for clients and staff; enforce program policies and maintain facility order and security.
* Professional Development and Collaboration: Participate in program and agency meetings and trainings; engage in learning activities focused on anti-racism and cultural competency.
* Other duties as assigned.


What You Bring (Qualifications)

* Five years of experience providing DV support and legal advocacy services, including at least one year of staff supervision.
* Two years of DV advocacy experience in court settings.
* Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience).
* Experience with crisis intervention, case management, and conflict resolution.
* Knowledge of emergency shelter or transitional housing programs, particularly in DV contexts.
* Completion of at least 50 hours of DV advocacy training (per WAC 388-61A-0350).
* Valid driver’s license and ability to travel within King County.
* Excellent interpersonal skills to build trust and rapport with clients and partners.
* Capacity to foster a collaborative and supportive team environment.
* Foster discussions and learning to understand and dismantle institutional racism; incorporate anti-racism principles and cultural competency in hiring and evaluations.
* Support skill development for supervisors and staff.
* Strong oral and written communication skills; bilingual in Spanish (preferred).
* Organizational skills, including maintaining accurate and confidential records.
* Ability to handle emergencies and exercise independent judgment.
* Familiarity with DV principles, homelessness issues, child abuse, and sexual assault.
* Basic proficiency in Microsoft 365.
* Ability to work flexible schedules and be on-call one week per month.
