Main duties of the job Ideally, the successful candidate will have completed Foundation Training (or equivalent) and Core Psychiatry training. Specialty doctors are encouraged to apply.

The role involves coordinating and providing undergraduate clinical teaching (about 5 sessions per week) and undertaking 5 sessions of clinical duties and professional development. Main clinical duties include supporting inpatients, with opportunities for outpatient work and home visits.
There are no on-call commitments, but locum opportunities may be available.

Job responsibilities Applications are invited from registered Medical Practitioners for this post within the Department of Old Age Psychiatry at Gateshead Health NHS Foundation Trust.
The Trust has been recognized by Health Education England for high-quality training of undergraduate and foundation students. The Old Age Psychiatry service covers patients over 65 with organic and functional psychiatric disorders, including dementia. Services are divided into five community sectors across Gateshead.
The Clinical Teaching Fellow will work alongside Dr. Ntanda and a multidisciplinary team, including trainees and consultants. There are cross-cover arrangements among trainees and a close educational link with General Psychiatry services.
