Job Description
Monarch Education is seeking to appoint a dedicated and experienced Teaching Assistant to join a primary school in Central Bath. This is a full-time position required to start as soon as possible (ASAP).
The school is looking for a versatile and compassionate Teaching Assistant with experience supporting a pupil in Key Stage 2, and a strong understanding of working with children with social, emotional and behavioural needs.
About The Role
As a Full-Time Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the learning and development of the pupil. Your responsibilities will include:
* Classroom Support:
o Supporting the delivery of lessons alongside the class teacher
o Assisting with classroom organisation, preparing resources, and maintaining a positive learning environment
o Managing classroom behaviour in collaboration with the teacher
* Supporting Pupils with SEND:
o Providing 1:1 support to pupils with SEND, including ASC, ADHD, Dyslexia, Dyscalculia, SLCN, and SEMH
o Leading or assisting with small group interventions for literacy and numeracy
o Implementing and adapting strategies for Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs)
o Monitoring and recording pupil progress and contributing to reviews
* Supporting Learning and Development:
o Encouraging pupil engagement, independence, and participation
o Helping pupils overcome learning barriers
o Providing emotional support and fostering positive social interactions
* Collaboration and Communication:
o Working effectively with the school team, including teachers, SENDCos, and support staff
o Communicating pupil progress and well-being to relevant staff and potentially liaising with parents/carers
Candidate Profile
We seek a dedicated, adaptable Teaching Assistant with primary school experience and a strong understanding of SEND support. The ideal candidate will have:
* Experience as a Teaching Assistant in Key Stage 2
* Proven experience supporting pupils with SEND
* Patience, nurturing attitude, and good communication skills
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
* Resilience and adaptability
* Commitment to safeguarding and child welfare
* Availability for full-time work, Monday to Friday during term time
Qualifications
* Relevant TA qualification (Level 2 or 3) or equivalent experience (highly desirable)
* Training related to supporting pupils with SEND is advantageous
