With a strong and growing demand for their services from their large and varied portfolio of well established clients, they are looking for a Senior or Principal Transport Planner to join their Manchester-based team. You'll be part of a collaborative, forward-thinking group that prides itself on technical excellence, creativity, and supporting one another to achieve the best outcomes for clients.

The Role
As a Senior Transport Planner, you'll play a key role in delivering high-quality transport planning services across a diverse portfolio of work.
Your responsibilities will include:
Preparing Transport Assessments, Travel Plans, and Environmental Statement chapters
Producing a wide range of development-related transport reports
Working closely with clients including developers, local authorities, and design teams
Supporting and mentoring junior team members
Attending site visits, project meetings, and stakeholder consultations
Assisting with business development, including fee proposals and client engagement
You'll have the opportunity to work on impactful projects spanning both the private and public sectors, contributing to developments that shape communities and infrastructure.

About You
You're an ambitious and driven transport professional who thrives in a collaborative consultancy environment.
You'll ideally bring:
Experience preparing transport assessments and travel plans
Knowledge of highway design principles (particularly site access design)
Proficiency in AutoCAD, GIS, and Microsoft Office
Experience with tools such as TRICS and Junctions 9
Strong understanding of UK planning and transport processes
And just as importantly:
A proactive, can-do attitude with a genuine passion for transport planning
Excellent communication and client-facing skills
Strong analytical thinking and attention to detail
Ability to produce clear, high-quality reports and drawings
A collaborative mindset and desire to contribute to team success
Preferred:
Degree or HND in Transport Planning, Civil Engineering, Geography, or similar
Professional accreditation (e.g. MCIHT, MTPS, MCILT)
