We are a well-established, independent optician practice in the heart of Kew Gardens, committed to delivering exceptional patient care and a premium eyewear experience. We are looking for a confident, experienced Optical Assistant to join our close-knit team.
Key Responsibilities
* Welcoming patients and managing front-of-house operations
* Assisting with frame selection, dispensing spectacles and contact lenses
* Taking accurate measurements (PD, segment heights, fitting adjustments)
* Supporting optometrists during pre-screening and clinical tests
* Processing orders, handling NHS and private patient records
* Maintaining frame displays, stock management and ordering
* Building lasting patient relationships and driving retail sales
Qualifications
* Minimum 2 years' experience in an optical practice (essential)
* Working knowledge of dispensing optics and lens types
* Experience with both NHS and private patients
* Proficiency with practice management software (e.g. Optix, Optisoft, Soehnges)
* Warm, professional manner with a genuine passion for eye care
* Excellent attention to detail and strong organisational skills
