Robert Half are recruiting on behalf of our client for an experienced Reconciliations Accountant to support a finance clean-up project in Basildon. This is a 4-week temporary assignment with the potential to extend.
The successful candidate will play a key role in resolving historical accounting discrepancies, with a strong emphasis on intercompany reconciliations and bringing structure to previously unreconciled accounts.
Key Responsibilities
1. Perform detailed reconciliations across multiple ledger accounts
2. Investigate and clear unreconciled balances
3. Focus heavily on intercompany mismatches and discrepancies
4. Review historic postings and correct errors
5. Support month-end tidy-up activities
6. Document findings and provide supporting reconciliation schedules
7. Drive accuracy and integrity across financial records
About You
8. Demonstrable experience in account reconciliation & ledger clean-up
9. Understanding of intercompany accounting principles
10. Comfortable working with messy data and incomplete information
11. Strong Excel skills and hands-on accounting systems experience
12. Highly analytical with strong attention to detail
13. Available for immediate start & able to commute to Basildon full-time
