We're looking for an Azure Platform Engineer to run the platform, our team and products for our leading customer in a commercial environment. Fully remote and working on some really engaging stuff. You will work closely with the engineering and technical support teams to resolve issues and maintain a high quality of service to our customers. Key Responsibilities Take responsibility for the work stack for the team in Jira, ensure tickets are well structured, prioritised and addressed accordingly; Help people within the team (6 total) on technical issues when required, ensure they are setup for success; Peer review of team members work before actioning (definition of done); Notify people of change (support etc) to feed back to customers when items of work are complete or when there are issues on the platform; Build best practices are alerting and monitoring; Review of existing process and documentation of missing processes for the team and the platform. Work with the developers on deploying the applications into customer environments with the team, including some out of hours scheduling; Identify tasks that can be automated and work with the engineers on these items accordingly; Review the Azure setup, produce a report on the problems with the platform, prioritise with the Head of Projects/Services; Essential Skills 2 years experience in an operational role with a cloud platform (Azure); Experience working with Microsoft Azure with knowledge of cloud-native services (Azure DNS, Application Gateway, Azure SQL Server, App Services, Blob Storage, Load Balancer, WAF) and best-practices for working with technology; Excellent understanding of networking principles (IP addressing, virtual networks, network security and networking models) Experience working with Terraform, Kubernetes (AKS) Understanding of observability and site-reliability principles (SLO's, SLI's) and working with engineering teams to improve the applications and platform; Good understanding of scripting languages for automating manual tasks (e.g. Powershell, additional experience with Python would desirable); Good understanding of SQL and working with relational databases; Salary of up to £90k on offer, plus 6% matched pension, healthcare cash plan, bonus plus fully remote work.
