Job Summary
A Mechanical Maintenance Engineer is required to support the engineering team in reaching a higher level of standard.
* Maintenance of mechanical equipment, following a planned and reactive schedule.
* Work as part of a team, focusing on plant availability and operational commitments.
The ideal candidate will have experience working with various types of equipment, including pumps, gearboxes, and specialist treatment process machinery. Strong interpersonal skills, ability to work in teams, and excellent planning and organisational skills are essential.
Responsibilities
* Carry out maintenance activities to the highest standard.
* Work as part of a team to keep plant availability in line with operational commitments.
* Assist with machine improvement projects.
* Monitor, fault find, maintain and repair a wide variety of equipment.
* Apply first level maintenance activities to all onsite assets.
* Perform large plant complex repairs.
* Use Breathing Apparatus and work in confined spaces if required (Training will be provided).
* Develop new skills both in and outside of your core discipline.
* Fault find, repair and maintain equipment on Water and Waste Water Treatment sites.
* Work with other disciplines in a workshop team.
* Follow business and departmental rules associated with workflow and management.
* Be aware of health and safety and work in a manner that keeps you and those around you safe.
* Organise workload and work order response using a computerised maintenance management system.
Requirements
* Hold City & Guilds or similar vocational qualifications.
* Completed an apprenticeship or recognised training in a mechanical discipline.
* Relevant experience in a production / processing or manufacturing facility would be beneficial.
* Well-developed interpersonal skills, ability to work in teams.
* Excellent planning and organisational skills.
