This organisation delivers a core platform used at scale and is committed to evolving its technology landscape to support long-term growth and performance.
About the Role
This is a senior, hands-on position combining deep technical expertise with leadership and mentorship. You will take ownership of back-end architecture and technical strategy, ensuring the platform remains scalable, resilient and aligned to wider business objectives.
Responsibilities
* Influence back-end architecture and platform strategy
* Define engineering standards, improve development practices and enhance tooling and observability
* Mentor and support other engineers, helping to raise the overall technical capability of the team
Required Skills
* Strong commercial experience with C# and .NET (6+)
* Expert knowledge of SQL Server
* Proven experience with Test-Driven Development (NUnit)
* Experience building and maintaining RESTful and GraphQL APIs
* Solid understanding of SOLID principles, OOP and modern back-end design
* Confidence diagnosing and resolving complex production issues
* Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence technical direction
Preferred Skills
* Entity Framework or similar ORMs
* Azure and modern DevOps / CI/CD practices
* Observability tools (logging, metrics, monitoring)
* Strong awareness of security best practice
Pay range and compensation package
Salary up to £80,000
