Are you passionate about clinical research and improving patient care through cutting edge science? The Cambridge Clinical Research Facility is looking for a highly flexible motivated and experienced Band 6 Clinical Research Practitioner or Nurse to support, coordinate and deliver the NIHR BioResource Project.
In this exciting role, you will work closely with the CRF Team Leaders to support recruitment, recall and care of participants, including healthy volunteers. The NIHR BioResource is a world- class initiative dedicated to understanding the links between genetics, health and disease to enable translational medicine and future healthcare advances.
The key job functions of the Bioresource are:
Coordinate with a wide range of stakeholders to ensure projects are run efficiently and smoothly, so that recruitment and recall targets are met on time and target for Stage 1 and Stage 2 recruitment programs.
Assist with all projects related activities by monitoring milestones, reviewing documentation and recording data.

Main duties of the job
This post will be based in the Cambridge Clinical Research Centre ,Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
The CCRC comprises six Clinical Research Facilities (CRF) located in 2 adjacent buildings and is funded by NIHR Clinical Research Facility for Experimental Medicine award. We cater for all investigators of Cambridge University Health Partners (CUHP), and beyond and have responsibility for new and existing clinical trials and clinical research projects on the CCRC portfolio, including Clinical Trials of Investigational Medicinal Products under the EU Directive (CTIMPs).
The key job functions of the Bioresource are:Coordinate with a wide range of stakeholders to ensure projects are run efficiently and smoothly, so that recruitment and recall targets are met on time and target for Stage 1 and Stage 2 recruitment programs.
Assist with all projects related activities by monitoring milestones, reviewing documentation and recording data.
To work in compliance with the International Conference on Harmonisation Good Clinical Practice Guidelines (ICH-GCP), the NHS Research Governance Framework for Health & Social Care and, in the case of a CTIMP, in compliance with the Medicines for Human Use (Clinical Trials) Regulations 2004.

The Metabolic Research Area (MRA) is a small team with specialist skills and therefore we rely heavily on each other as there is not another team with our skills. We rely on every team member being flexible and reliable. Our working hours are dictated by the patients requirements for individual studies. Therefore this may involve early morning measurements, evening measurements, night shifts and weekend working. Our busiest times are school holidays as one of our main studies is working with children. Due to our flexible working ours we are able to offer flexibility in return, where the service enables us to do so.
