This KS2 Teaching Assistant role offers the opportunity to support pupils during a key stage where independence, confidence, and academic expectations increase significantly. You will work closely with the class teacher to support learning across the curriculum, helping pupils engage with lessons, stay focused, and make measurable progress. The school is looking for a Teaching Assistant who understands the importance of consistency, structure, and positive reinforcement, particularly in upper primary classes. Key Responsibilities Support the class teacher during whole‑class lessons Provide targeted support to individual pupils and small groups Assist with literacy and numeracy activities, including guided reading and interventions Reinforce learning objectives during independent work Support behaviour management using agreed school strategies Help pupils develop organisational skills and independence Prepare classroom resources and learning materials Supervise pupils during transitions, break times, and activities Skills and Experience Required Experience working with KS2 pupils (desirable but not essential) Confidence supporting learning across the primary curriculum Ability to follow lesson plans and teacher instructions Calm, patient and supportive approach Strong communication and teamwork skills Willingness to adapt to different learning needs Ideal Candidate This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with upper primary pupils and wants a consistent, full‑time role in education.
