My client is a fast-growing UK e-commerce retailer investing heavily in its digital platform and customer experience.
They are looking for an E-commerce Platform Manager to take ownership of their Magento 2 platform, working closely with an established external development partner to deliver ongoing improvements, enhancements and platform stability.
This is a technical platform ownership role, not a trading or merchandising position.
The role
You will act as the internal owner of the Magento platform, responsible for ensuring it is stable, scalable and continuously improving.
Working alongside internal stakeholders and an experienced external development team, you will manage the development backlog, prioritise work and oversee delivery.
Key responsibilities
* Own the Magento 2 platform day-to-day (performance, stability, releases)
* Manage and prioritise the development backlog
* Translate business requirements into clear technical briefs and user stories
* Work closely with an external development partner, managing delivery and output
* Oversee QA, testing and release cycles
* Collaborate with internal teams across e-commerce, marketing and operations
* Identify opportunities to improve platform performance and user experience
What they are looking for
* Experience working with Magento 2 (Adobe Commerce)
* Background in either:
* Software development, or Technical product / platform ownership
* Experience managing development backlogs and working with developers
* Comfortable discussing technical concepts, architecture and trade-offs
* Experience working with external development agencies or offshore teams
Important
This role is focused on platform ownership and technical delivery.
It is not suited to candidates from purely trading, merchandising or digital marketing backgrounds.
