Senior/Design Engineer - Electrical

We are looking to strengthen our engineering team with a Senior/Lead Electrical Engineer based at our @One Alliance office in Peterborough with hybrid working available.
You will report directly to the Principal Engineer and provide superior quality Engineering Design services, minimising risks and maximising profits on turnkey and engineering services contracts. Your role will involve coordinating design, producing design documents and drawings, ensuring health and safety, specifications and standards are met.
Key Responsibilities
* Produce cost‑effective design layouts that meet specifications and can be constructed and commissioned effectively. Consider all costs, including design time, material, erection, and impacts on other disciplines.
* Utilise standard practices wherever possible.
* Maintain competitiveness and provide estimates and feedback for the Proposals department.
* Work to procedures and processes to ensure ongoing department development.
* Assist in developing, monitoring, and reviewing procedures and processes.
* Coordinate designs with all disciplines internal and external to MWHT to ensure cohesive contract delivery.
* Maintain files and records throughout contract duration.
* Ensure customer satisfaction and support a culture where customer satisfaction is key.
* Maintain a personal development plan and assist in supervising and developing staff.
* Ensure a safe working environment and reduce departmental waste.
* Consider environmental issues and incorporate health and safety requirements into designs.
Essential Qualifications
* Degree in electrical engineering discipline.
* Understanding of principles of water and sewage treatment.
* Experience managing/mentoring staff in designing water and sewage treatment plant aspects.
* Membership of a professional institution, chartered or near chartership.
* Relevant engineering degree or HND.
* Ability to rationalise designs and produce economical plant layouts.
* Good general knowledge of water treatment, mechanical, process, electrical engineering and project management.
* Flexible mind, able to assimilate large quantities of data.
* Strong technical proposal presentation skills.
* Computer literacy.
* Driving licence.
Desirable Qualifications
* Working towards Chartered Engineer status.
* Relevant Engineering Master’s Degree.
