Information Communication Technician Apprentice
Location:Chiswick, London. Travelling to other offices for on-site support may be required.
Job Purpose
The IT Apprentice provides day-to-day first-line IT support to users across the business. The role focuses on resolving technical issues quickly, preparing and maintaining user devices, supporting onboarding, and assisting IT projects. As part of this role, you will also support site-based IT activity and work with external suppliers when required.
You will be supported by a team of five who work across our projects; Heathrow Airport, Tilbury Energy Tunnel (TKRE), High Speed 2 and track infrastructure, Thames Tideway Tunnel and water treatment in Slough.
Key Responsibilities
1. Provide first-line IT support via calls, desk-side assistance, remote support, and site visits
2. Resolve day-to-day IT issues, escalate unresolved problems, and track them through to completion
3. Build, configure, maintain, and recycle IT devices
4. Prepare and deploy equipment for onboarding new users
5. Deliver training and support to new users to ensure they understand company systems and policies
6. Provide audio-visual support at Chiswick Head Office
7. Carry out software and driver updates
8. Perform hardware maintenance and basic repairs
9. Assist with delivery of IT projects
10. Maintain stock levels and update the stock/asset database
11. Support project IT teams as required
Skills and Experience
12. Pro-active
13. Strong attention to detail with a logical approach to problem solving
14. Ability to deliver clear and confident communication to both technical and non-technical users
15. Team player
16. Resilient and flexible when handling changing priorities
17. Motivated to learn and develop a career in IT
18. Experience in an IT or technical support environmental is desirable
19. Good working knowledge of general IT Systems (Android, Windows, Apple)

Qualifications:
5 GCSEs grade 4-9, including Maths and English and 3 A Levels or BTEC Level 3
Apprenticeship Standard:Information communications technician Level 3 + CompTIA A certification included
Duration:18 months Apprenticeship Programme + End Point Assessment
Hours:40.5 per week (Monday to Thursday 9am to 6pm; Friday 9am to 4pm). Four days delivering in the office and 1 day studying from home or training at the providers facility.
