Kitchen Assistant / Kitchen Porter - Billing Aquadrome - Northampton, Northamptonshire Location: Billing Aquadrome NN3 9DA Kitchen Assistant-Kitchen Porter - The Kitchen Assistant / Kitchen Porter supports the kitchen team by maintaining cleanliness, assisting with basic food preparation, and ensuring the kitchen operates smoothly and safely. This role is essential in upholding hygiene standards and supporting chefs during service. Hours – Shift-based, including weekends and public holidays Key Responsibilities: Wash dishes, utensils, pots, and pans efficiently Keep the kitchen, storage areas, and equipment clean and organized Assist with basic food preparation (e.g., peeling, chopping, portioning) Dispose of waste correctly and follow recycling procedures Maintain high standards of food hygiene and safety (HACCP) Clean kitchen floors, walls, and work surfaces Receive and store deliveries correctly Support chefs and kitchen staff during busy service periods Follow health and safety regulations at all times. Key Skills & Experience: Ability to work in a fast-paced environment Good attention to cleanliness and hygiene Basic knowledge of food safety (training can be provided) Ability to work well as part of a team Physically fit and able to stand for long periods Reliable, punctual, and hardworking Desirable: Previous kitchen or cleaning experience is an advantage but not essential Full training will be provided Working Hours: Shift-based, including weekends, evenings, and public holidays
