Sherwood Forest Hospitals are seeking an enthusiastic and highly motivated HCPC registered Specialist Biomedical Scientist to join the Department of Cellular Pathology. The successful candidate must have completed the IBMS Specialist Portfolio in Cellular Pathology. Candidates who have made a substantial start on the IBMS Specialist Portfolio in Cellular Pathology and possess significant experience to demonstrate competency at that level may be considered.
Qualifications
* HCPC registration as a Biomedical Scientist.
* Completed the IBMS Specialist Portfolio in Cellular Pathology.
* Alternatively, a substantial start on the IBMS Specialist Portfolio in Cellular Pathology with demonstrable experience at that level.
Responsibilities
* Serve as a registered Specialist Biomedical Scientist, providing a diagnostic service to clinicians and other users to aid in diagnosis and treatment.
* Conduct scientific work within the laboratory, analyse initial findings, and identify necessary follow‑up actions.
* Lead the newly developed area of digital pathology.
* Perform specialist techniques including specimen dissection, diagnostic cytology, andrology, special staining techniques and take a leadership role within sections of the department.
