Responsibilities
* Join a small and flexible design team and contribute as an experienced designer capable of managing projects from start to finish.
* Take on client management responsibilities once embedded in the team and support clients through the design and construction process.
* Collaborate with a team of designers, architects, and project teams on a broad range of largely domestic projects.
* Work in a client-facing role, involved in project details rather than production from afar.
Is this for YOU?
What we need
Passion and creativity
* Use your talent and creativity to solve real-world problems, assist with budgets, and manage these with clients to deliver real gardens, not just designs. Every step requires meticulous work, a deep understanding of sites, openness to challenge, and a willingness to learn.
Technical skill
* A formal Garden Design or Landscape Architecture qualification is ideal but not essential; real-world experience is valued highly. Our designs are modelled in SketchUp and AutoCAD, so a strong practical experience of SketchUp and willingness to learn AutoCAD is required. A good knowledge and interest in plants and the ability to prepare planting plans is highly valued.
Personal Attributes
* Fluent and comfortable written and spoken English; reliability; ability to work in a team; and time management to meet tight deadlines. Ability to engage with clients and interpret needs during meetings.
Location
* Must be able to visit local sites and clients. This is a full-time, office-based role based in our converted barn in Penn, near Beaconsfield. A full driving licence and own transport are essential.
What’s in it for you?
* Join a broader design and landscaping community with strong camaraderie.
* Competitive salary and company pension scheme.
* 28 days holiday (including bank holidays), ongoing support and learning opportunities, and opportunity to follow design projects through from design to build.
* Commitment to diversity and a supportive employer culture.
If you’re interested, please apply by sending your CV and portfolio, with a cover letter.
We look forward to hearing from you.
