Chemistry Technician: A Scientific Role
Job Description:
* This role is an exciting opportunity to work closely with a team of scientists in a dynamic laboratory environment.
Key Responsibilities:
* To support activities including chemical analysis, device fabrication, and applications testing
* To perform routine and one-off laboratory testing such as Raman Spectroscopy, LC-MS, thermal analysis, and dry weight
* To prepare buffers and membrane materials for reactions on small and large scales
* To run chemical reactions for modification of membrane materials in flow reactors, following standard operating procedures
* To document experimental findings in Electronic Lab Notebook entries and technical reports
* To contribute to laboratory organisation, maintaining stocks of reagents and chemical waste disposal
Requirements:
* Bachelor's degree in a scientific discipline with a minimum of 3 months laboratory experience, or Science A-levels (or equivalent) with a minimum of 2 years laboratory experience
* Experience in wet chemistry and/or one or more of the analytical methods listed above
* Proficiency in MS Office Applications such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
* Teamworking ability, attention to detail, and interpersonal skills
* Strong organisational and prioritisation skills, able to multi-task efficiently
A Plus if You Have:
* Previous experience in the biotechnology industry
