Job Title: Area Head of Automotive Professions
About the Role
As Area Head Automotive Professions, youll lead the development and delivery of a vibrant, high-quality and efficient range of classroom-based, Apprenticeship, full cost commercial and other programmes (e.g. Bootcamps) in:
* Motor Vehicle Servicing and Repair
* Automotive Maintenance
* Motor Vehicle Body and Paint
* Vehicle Technician Accredited Assessment (VTAA)
* Electric and Hybrid Vehicles
* MOT Testing
This position will take the lead in delivering inspiring and confident leadership that drives our area forward! Spearhead the creation of a cutting-edge, innovative curriculum that truly responds to the evolving needs of both employers and students. Champion efficient timetabling and maximise staff potential to ensure smooth, impactful delivery. Skillfully manage resources people, space, and materials to support excellence in every lesson. Fuel ongoing growth by continuously enhancing our curriculum and launching exciting new courses. Essential Qualifications
* Minimum of Level 2 qualification in English and Mathematics (e.g. GCSE grade C/4 or equivalent).
* Degree or equivalent.
* Teaching qualification minimum Level 5 (e.g. Certificate in Education/PGCE or equivalent).
* Evidence of continuing professional development.
Essential Experience
* Knowledge and experience of current practices and innovations in the sector and in Further Education.
* Evidence of effective management of staff to achieve improvements in quality and outcomes.
* Experience of leading and supporting staff in strong teaching, learning and assessment.
* Evidence of efficient management and deployment of resources to support a high-quality student experience.
* Experience in curriculum development, promotion, and marketing.
* Awareness of Equity, Diversity and Inclusion, Prevent, and Safeguarding principles.

On Site Food & Drink facilities- Colchester Campus has a takeaway food service operated by the Centre for Hospitality & Food students. MOT and Servicing- all work will be carried out by a fully qualified and experienced mechanic assisted by students. This provides students with a 'real world' garage experience to help them flourish upon completion of their qualification. In addition, all this will be conducted in the fully accredited state of the art workshops run by the college.
