Service Manager Vacancy - Independent Service Centre Leighton Buzzard

2. Location: Leighton Buzzard
3. Salary: £35,000 – £45,000
4. Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 5:30pm (1 in 2 Saturdays)
We are recruiting for an experienced Service Manager to join a busy, well-established independent garage in Leighton Buzzard, they have a strong local reputation and loyal customer base.
This is a key leadership role within a growing business that combines vehicle sales with a fully equipped in-house service and MOT operation. The workshop handles a steady flow of retail, internal prep, and customer vehicles across all makes and models.
You’ll be given the autonomy to take ownership of the department, improve processes, and build a high-performing team.
Key Responsibilities as a Service Manager will include:
5. Full management of workshop operations and daily workflow
6. Leading and motivating technicians and front-of-house staff
7. Managing productivity, efficiency, and quality control
8. Overseeing job allocation, bookings, and turnaround times
9. Maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction
Requirements that the Service Manager will need:
10. Proven experience as a Service Manager or Workshop Controller
11. Strong background managing a busy workshop environment
12. Confident dealing with technicians, customers, and workload pressure
13. Hands-on and commercially aware approach
14. Comfortable working in a fast-paced independent garage setting
