Design & Technology Teacher (3D, Photography & Food Specialist)

£32,916 - £51,048 per annum (MPS/UPS)

Ipswich

Are you a multi-disciplinary innovator capable of bridging the gap between technical engineering, digital artistry, and nutritional science? Are you seeking a permanent appointment within an ambitious Ipswich secondary school that values DT as a cornerstone of modern innovation?

We are seeking a rare and highly skilled Qualified DT Teacher (QTS) for a permanent position at our partner Secondary School in Ipswich. This role is designed for a "Modern Maker" — someone who can inspire students across the diverse spectrum of 3D Design, Photography, and Food Technology. If you are looking for a long‑term career move where you can utilise your full creative arsenal in a well‑resourced setting, this is your ideal next step.

Your Responsibilities

* 3D Design & Making: Plan and lead sessions in Resistant Materials and Product Design, focusing on structural integrity, material properties, and the transition from 2D sketching to 3D prototyping.
* Digital Photography: Deliver high-level Photography instruction, covering both technical camera settings (ISO, Aperture, Shutter Speed) and creative post‑production/editing techniques.
* Food Technology & Nutrition: Lead practical and theoretical lessons in Food, emphasising food safety, nutritional science, and the chemistry of cooking.
* GCSE/A‑Level Delivery: Lead cohorts through their Non‑Exam Assessment (NEA) and portfolios, providing expert feedback to ensure students meet the highest marking criteria.
* Workshop & Lab Safety: Maintain an impeccable standard of health and safety across three distinct environments (Workshop, Studio, and Kitchen), adhering to all DATA and school protocols.
* Cross‑Curricular Innovation: Highlight the links between your subjects — such as the engineering in a camera lens or the chemical reactions in baking — to provide a holistic STEM education.

What You'll Bring to the Team

* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS): Mandatory. A degree in Design & Technology, Art & Design, or a related vocational field.
* Technical Breadth: Demonstrated proficiency in using workshop machinery (CAD/CAM), digital editing software (Adobe Suite), and industrial kitchen equipment.
* Adaptable Pedagogy: The ability to switch teaching styles to suit different environments, from the high‑energy workshop to the focused photography studio.
* Organizational Mastery: Excellence in managing diverse resources, stock levels, and student work across multiple creative disciplines.
* Compliance: An enhanced Child DBS on the Update Service (or a willingness to process a new one via Randstad).
