About the role
We are excited to be recruiting a Welfare Rights Officer to join our Welfare Support Team within the Revenues, Benefits & Welfare Service. Our service plays a vital role in supporting the borough’s most financially vulnerable residents, administering a wide range of welfare support schemes. You’ll be part of a supportive, forward-thinking team that’s committed to delivering impactful welfare support.

As part of your role as a Welfare Rights Officer, you will manage your own caseload and also support the team with:
* Income maximisation for residents of the Borough
* Representation at social security appeals
* Provide specialist welfare benefits advice and training to fellow professionals and advisors
We are looking for someone with:
* Knowledge of the welfare reform agenda
* Experience in providing welfare benefits advice
* Ability to make sound judgments in complex and challenging circumstances
* Excellent ICT skills and a commitment to high standards of work
* A positive, enthusiastic attitude
* A desire to work in a high-performing team with a proven track record

* A career graded salary from £26,403 up to £37,280 (the salary grade on appointment will be determined by qualifications and experience)
