Job Description
What you’ll do
* Preparation and submission of estimates and tender costings.
* Measurement and valuation of main and subcontract works (including take-offs).
* Drafting, negotiating, and administering subcontract agreements, including procurement and payments.
* Preparation, submission, and agreement of interim and final accounts with full supporting documentation.
* Accurate commercial forecasting, including CVRs, margins, and financial reports.
* Identification, valuation, and agreement of variations, compensation events, and claims.
* Advising project teams on commercial and contractual matters, ensuring compliance with company procedures, client requirements, and industry standards.
* Supporting risk management and mitigation across projects.
* Driving continuous improvement and best practice in commercial processes.
Qualifications
What you’ll bring
* Proven experience as QS ideally with highways, civil engineering, or infrastructure projects.
* RICS membership is an advantage however training can be given.
* Strong knowledge of NEC contracts (essential).
* Excellent analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail.
* Effective communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to work confidently with clients, contractors, and stakeholders.
* Ability to work independently, collaboratively, and under pressure to meet deadlines.
* Preferred degree in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management.
* Proficient in MS Office and relevant commercial management software.
* Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to project sites.
