HLTA / Behaviour Mentor (or Equivalent). Location: Stafford. Pay: Depending on Qualification/Experience (Paid To Scale).
The Role
We're seeking a dedicated HLTA / Behaviour Mentor / Support Lead (or similar experienced professional) to join the team. This specialist role combines academic support, behavioural intervention, and mentoring, all within a setting that values relational work and positive engagement.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver academic intervention and 1:1 / small group support
* Mentor and coach pupils to reflect on behaviour and develop strategies
* Support reintegration into structured learning following disruption
* Use relational and creative approaches to engage pupils
* Collaborate with SLT, SEND team, therapists, and wider staff to plan support
* Monitor progress, behaviour, and record impact
What We\'re Looking For
* Qualified HLTA, or equivalent experience (e.g. in behaviour support, alternative provision, youth work)
* Strong behaviour management skills and experience working with SEMH / challenging behaviour
* Empathy, resilience, flexibility, and a practice of building trusting relationships
* Ability to adapt methods to individual needs and contexts
* Good communication, record-keeping, and professional collaboration skills
* Willingness to travel between sites (Stafford / Dunston)
