From advanced communication systems to data management and a state-of-the-art Fire Control suite, ICT is the backbone that underpins operational service delivery, ensuring firefighters have the tools they need to respond quickly and effectively in supporting our communities. We are seeking a Fire ICT Engineer to join the Fire ICT team to assist Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service on their Digital and Data transformation across a range of exciting projects. Responsibilities
 * Respond to ITSM tickets daily, resolving issues where possible and escalating with full details to senior engineers, Fire ICT Managers, or third parties.
 * Provide technical support for IT infrastructure, networking, systems, and datacentre technologies including installation, configuration, troubleshooting, and monitoring.
 * Maintain specialised systems such as radio communications, telephony (including ICCS), and emergency alerting platforms.
 * Implement security measures to protect data integrity and confidentiality, ensuring compliance with ICT policies and regulations.
 * Participate in ICT projects and, following training, join the on-call rota to support critical systems out of hours. You will be joining a supportive and forward-thinking team, and you will play a vital role in troubleshooting, problem-solving, and implementing solutions to the highest standards.
 * The Fire ICT Team focuses on the blue light element of Fire and Rescue Service systems, including systems which alert fire personnel to incidents, provide information to the incident ground using mobile data terminals on fire engines, allow communications through mobile phones, Airwave radios and Wi-Fi and systems to capture information which can be used by other teams to monitor performance. The team is based at Ipswich East Fire Station but is responsible for equipment at all thirty-five fire stations across Suffolk along with the primary and secondary Fire Control locations.
