Verview We are looking for a HSEQ Officer to join our H&S team. The successful applicant will support the HSEQ team to manage and facilitate the whole of BU Health and Safety activities in a manner that ensures all statutory and company requirements are achieved and maintained in support of the business objectives. This is a hands-on role. This role reports to the Head of Group HSEQ Manager. How will you contribute? Day to Day, Accident Investigations, Risk Assessments, Local HSEQ Plans, Glidepath, Culture, Accident Reduction, Legislative Compliance, Corporate Compliance Working with Group Transport Safety Team the and the HSEQ Manager to help develop, implement and manage the local risk based HSEQ Plans. Working with the Group Transport HSEQ team ensuring that Best Practice in health & safety is adopted and regularly reviewed. This will include day to day review of the management; accident reduction strategies; and management training requirements. Carry out statistical analysis and trending to identify issues of concern; assist in the creation, modification and delivery of relevant action plans and provide support for all the HSEQ Team. Support the HSEQ Team and sites in collating Glidepath, Audit Action plan and quarterly reviews etc. Assist in monitoring the investigation and management of incidents ( including major incidents), providing advice on root causation, best preventative measures and sharing lessons learned. Ensure LTI /Major templates are issued when applicable, support and review documentation in preparation for Friday review call with Central Team Working with the HSEQ Team develop systems that will ensure that the location safety management system is fit for purpose. Using corporate HSEQ IT systems e.g. Eco-Online, Webrisk, I-Auditor etc., to support the delivery of the above accountabilities. To keep abreast of corporate, regulatory and legislative changes and advise management of the implications for the business. To undertake a recognised CPD programme and obtain formal Safety Qualification (NEBOSH Cert) within 12 months of joining Involvement with internal working parties as appropriate to ensure Wincanton is seen to be actively leading safety initiatives. Monitoring H&S Meetings on a regular basis at Contract / Site basis. Produce management reports as required by the HSEQ Manager and Group Transport HSEQ Team, e.g. Period End and customer specific packs What will you bring? Strong administration and IT skills. Effective presentation and communication skills. Experience of environmental and quality management would be preferable. NEBOSH Certificate qualified or equivalent desirable. (Candidates who are studying to this level will be considered). If you do not currently meet this requirement must attain this within 12 months of appointment. Motivated self-starter, comfortable working as part of a team and as an individual. Good communicator with good influencing skills who can operate at all levels What do we offer?
