Job description
Our client, a prestigious consulting firm in the Defence & Security sector, is seeking a skilled System Engineer / Infrastructure Specialist for a contract role. This opportunity involves supporting our client's infrastructure needs, enabling them to effectively manage existing assets and advise on upgrades or new projects.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Leverage technical knowledge to assist clients in making informed decisions regarding infrastructure designs.
2. Enhance the capability and effectiveness of client infrastructure through strategic decision-making.
3. Offer technical problem-solving advice and support.
4. Define and manage customer requirements effectively.
5. Collect and analyse data to resolve problems and deliver recommendations.
6. Implement recommendations that deliver tangible benefits to clients.
7. Ensure understanding and effective exploitation of proposed solutions.
8. Identify opportunities to implement best practices.
9. Support business development activities to enhance visibility of infrastructure services.
10. Design, create, and test moderately complex subject matter in their capability area.
11. Work autonomously with limited supervision, taking responsibility for planning and analysis.
Job Requirements:
Essential:
12. Minimum Level 4 qualification (e.g., HNC) in a relevant Engineering or Science subject or equivalent work experience.
13. M&E or Civil/Structural Engineering experience in infrastructure environments.
14. Strong stakeholder management skills across multiple levels.
15. Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
16. Proactive, self-starter approach to professional development.
17. UK Security Clearance and sole UK national status.
Desirable:
18. Experience in defence infrastructure environments, particularly maritime.
19. Understanding of Systems Engineering Principles as defined in the INCOSE Systems Engineering Handbook.
20. Knowledge of Nuclear Safety Management Systems, Assurance & Regulation.
21. Familiarity with Nuclear Authorisation Conditions.
22. Understanding of the CADMID process.
Employment Conditions:
23. 37.5 hours per week, with part-time options available.
24. Remote working capability with flexibility to travel to various locations such as Weymouth, Bath, Fareham, Plymouth, Glasgow, and potentially overseas.
25. This role is reserved for Sole UK Nationals only.
