Overview
Eaton is seeking an experienced Engineering Manager for the Power Electronics (PE) Center of Excellence (CoE) team located in Titchfield, UK. The ideal candidate is a technically adept engineer with leadership qualities who can inspire a cross-functional team and collaborate with international colleagues. The site is relocating to a newly constructed facility in Daedalus, serving as the Centre of Excellence for aerospace manufacturing across Europe.
What You’ll Do
* Lead and direct a team of engineers and projects to achieve stated goals and objectives
* Monitor and report on the overall performance of a team and projects; create a performance-based culture with measurable goals that support CoE strategies
* Coach and mentor team members to strengthen technical capability
* Support the CoE Director to develop strategy, direction, and priorities; create action plans to realize strategies
* Support the CoE Director and BU engineering leaders in developing technology roadmaps, project pipelines, detailed project plans, and value propositions
* Initiate and develop relationships with engineering and business leaders within Eaton to drive adoption of new technology, common platforms/designs, and state-of-the-art design methodologies
* Drive engineering excellence within the CoE and BU teams
Qualifications
* BS in electrical engineering or mechanical engineering or equivalent
* Minimum 10 years of engineering experience in electrification-focused product development and certification, preferably in aerospace applications
* Minimum 3 years of experience in leading people
* Proven leadership skills and technical capability
* Experience in project management
* Customer-focused with good relationship-building and communication skills
* Ability to learn new skills, knowledge, industry, or products
Preferred Qualifications
* Hands-on experience in electronics designs and product development, especially power electronics for safety-critical applications, including aerospace
* Broad knowledge of power electronics designs including topology, analog/digital circuits, thermal management, control, and firmware
* Understanding of compliance standards, including MIL standards
* Experience working in diverse cultural situations with global customers and team members
* Demonstrated knowledge of engineering processes
* Design for Six Sigma certification
