The Bodleian Libraries, part of the University of Oxford, is seeking an experienced and motivated Internal Events Manager to lead and deliver a vibrant calendar of events across our world-renowned venues, including the Old Bodleian Library and the Weston Library. The post is part of the Bodleian Enterprises team, which oversees both internal and commercial events across the Libraries. This role offers the opportunity to deliver a wide range of high-profile events, from fundraising galas and exhibition openings to staff celebrations and public engagement programmes. You will play a key role in the life of the Libraries, working closely with senior colleagues to shape meaningful experiences that support the Libraries’ mission and enhance its public profile. Alongside internal events, you will also support the commercial events team by helping to deliver weddings and corporate functions as required. As Internal Events Manager, you will oversee all aspects of planning and delivery, from developing creative design briefs and managing budgets, to coordinating logistics and working with suppliers. You will collaborate with a variety of stakeholders across the Libraries and the University, and be a visible presence at events to ensure they run smoothly and professionally. This post also offers the opportunity to build your management skills by overseeing an Events Assistant and contributing to the development of a small but dynamic events team. This is a permanent, full-time position, working 37.5 hours per week. This role offers the opportunity to work one day per week remotely, though due to the nature of the role it is primarily based on-site. About You We are looking for someone with proven experience in high-level event management who is confident leading complex event planning processes and delivering exceptional results. You should have strong communication and negotiation skills, the ability to work collaboratively, and be comfortable engaging with senior stakeholders. Flexibility is essential, as the role involves working evenings, weekends and bank holidays when events are scheduled. Experience managing or mentoring junior colleagues is highly desirable.
