Job Purpose / Overview
The Quality Engineer (QE) supports the Quality Management Lead (QML) in ensuring project quality requirements are met across the full HPC project lifecycle. The role provides implementation and monitoring support and does not hold accountability for final quality decisions, which remain with the QML.
Principal Accountabilities
* Support the development of quality (QA/QC) arrangements for deployment across the HPC organisation.
* Implement key quality arrangements related to PQCPs, CQAPs, manufacturing surveillance and inspections, NCR management and close out, and quality reporting and metrics.
Qualifications and Experience
* Essential: Experience in project delivery, preferably in the nuclear power sector, with significant focus on project quality and a solid understanding of QA/QC across engineering, procurement, manufacturing, construction and commissioning.
* Proven experience working on HPC and a strong understanding of quality assurance, compliance and governance in the nuclear industry.
* Experience of interfacing with project teams and supply‑chain organisations.
* Analysis of data, preparing reports and making recommendations.
* Pro‑active and flexible, prepared to plan and work on own initiative.
* Native‑level English speaker (spoken and written).
* Highly experienced Quality Engineer, operating at a senior level with ambition to progress into a Quality Manager Lead role.
* Desirable: Knowledge of the nuclear sector, ideally new build; knowledge of nuclear site licence conditions; ability to speak French is advantageous; knowledge of pressure and nuclear codes; knowledge of Welding, Non‑Destructive Testing (NDT) and Non‑Destructive Evaluation (NDE).
* A HNC/HND qualification or degree in a relevant science or engineering subject, or equivalent qualification.
* Proven track record of delivering results.
* Proven experience interacting and resolving issues with a wide range of stakeholders in a multi‑cultural environment.
* Broad experience implementing a variety of quality related solutions.
* Hold a professional accreditation and be a corporate member or working towards membership of the Chartered Quality Institute and Chartered Quality Professional.
* Knowledge of improvement methodologies, tools and techniques such as Lean Six Sigma.
