:
Carry out Quality Control Testingin accordance withOxoid test specifications and methods. This will include but is not limited to:
1. Level 1, 2, and 3 testing methods
2. Media preparation
3. Completing OOS reports andassistingwith investigations
4. Training records recorded and maintained
5. Plan,trackand control the progress of products under test, and provideaccurateavailability dates to planning and customer services
6. Alerting senior personnel of product problems/failures andassistwith further investigation
7. Ensure all test results are recorded within the SAP Quality Management System
8. Cleaning, waste management, consumablereplenishingand use of autoclaves
9. Ensure processes and procedures are carried out in line with the laboratory and company Quality Systems
10. Build andmaintaineffective working relationships to ensure robust teamwork cross-functionally and with key stakeholders (key interfaces include QC Manager, QC Team Leader, QC Lead Scientist, QA, Manufacturing Sciences, Production, Customer Services and Planning) to ensure customer service level targets are met
11. Taking direction from the QC Team Leader, Lead Scientist and Senior Scientistregardingprioritisation of finished product and raw material testing
12. Engage in continuous improvement using PPI leanmethodologyincluding standard work and tier meetings. Use PPI processes to tackle problems and improve departmental and business processes
13. Role-model the Thermo Fisher 4I Values and use as a day-to-day guide in decision making
14. To fulfil the responsibilities of the position as defined in the Oxoid Health, Safety and Environmental policies and associated Codes of Practice
Education
15. Level 6 educational qualification or equivalent in a Microbiology or related subject (Study towards level 6 or QBE will also be considered)
16. Effective planning and organizational skills
17. Decision Quality - High attention to detail and a systematic approach
18. Drive for Results - Delivering consistent results by being willed totake action,demonstratinginterpersonal agility, planningefficientlyand setting priorities.
19. Good numeracy skills, and ability to read and follow methods / SOPs accurately
Preferred Qualifications and Skills
20. Significant experienceof QC testing within a microbiology laboratory environment
21. Composure – Able to remain calm and work methodically under pressure
22. Significant experiencein using SAP, and MS Office software packages
23. Problem Solving - Effective in technical and organizational troubleshooting to root cause
24. Communicates openly crafting collaborative relationships by developing strong work relationships, displayingintegrityand building trust across functions
25. Experience in basic laboratory skills and techniques (pipetting, swabbing, streaking, pouring plates etc).
