Senior Veterinary Engagement Manager
Team: Cat Welfare Engagement
Location: Homebased with significant UK travel
Work pattern: 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 7 hours per day
Salary: Up to £66,573.16 per year
Contract: Permanent

Responsibilities
* Support the Chief Veterinary Officer and the Head of Cat Welfare Engagement in the engagement of the veterinary profession
* Ensure the support and facilitation for vets to play a central role in improving cat welfare
* Be a key veterinary spokesperson and manage the liaison with veterinary profession bodies including the veterinary corporates
* Offer veterinary support for the wider organisation, particularly focusing on supporting the Marketing and Income Generation Directorate and external communications teams in ensuring that activities are aligned with our ‘We Put Cats First’ values and in the work with partnerships
* Act as a veterinary subject matter expert for the research team
About the Cat Welfare Engagement team
* The Cat Welfare Engagement Team sits in the Cat Welfare Department, who are responsible for developing understanding, guidance and assurance around cat welfare, and disseminating this knowledge across the organisation and beyond
* The Cat Welfare Engagement Team is responsible for supporting Cats Protection in influencing society to improve lives of cats. They do this by:
o Working closely with the wider organisation to ensure that we influence and engage with society in a way that represents and supports cats’ needs and helps to improve the lives for cats
o Working with key stakeholder groups (vets, vet nurses, behaviourists, etc.) to enable them to improve the lives of cats they come into contact with
Qualifications
* Valid UK driving licence with access to own vehicle
* Extensive experience in clinical practice as a Veterinary Surgeon
* Line management and leadership experience at a senior level within the charity/veterinary sector
* Strong networking skills and ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders across various organisational levels
* Good understanding of feline welfare and shelter medicine principles
