Job Description
We seek a proactive and skilled Support Technician to join our Maintenance Engineering team at Shirebrook. You will provide maintenance support for distribution systems and equipment, ensuring efficient operations. This semi-skilled role requires attention to detail, teamwork, and collaboration with technicians. There are opportunities to develop skills and potentially progress through an apprenticeship scheme.
This role operates on a 4 on 4 off shift pattern, rotating between days and nights.
Key Responsibilities:
Technical Support:
* Support maintenance of conveyor belts, sorting machines, and storage systems, working closely with technicians and independently.
* Troubleshoot and resolve simple issues to minimize downtime.
Maintenance and Repairs:
* Perform inspections and preventive maintenance on distribution equipment.
* Ensure equipment complies with manufacturer guidelines and safety standards.
System Monitoring:
* Monitor performance and identify issues.
* Report irregularities to supervisors.
Safety and Compliance:
* Follow health and safety regulations and policies.
* Keep records of maintenance activities and checks.
Documentation and Reporting:
* Record all activities in the CMMS system.
Collaborative Efforts:
* Work with distribution and logistics teams for seamless operations.
* Assist with implementing new systems and technologies.
Qualifications:
We are looking for:
* A passion for engineering.
* Comfort working at heights and in confined spaces.
* Teamwork skills.
* Good communication skills.
Desirable but not essential:
* Electrical or Mechanical Engineering qualification or experience in semi-skilled maintenance roles. Passion for engineering is more important than formal qualifications.
