Overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Personal Assistant to support a happy, energetic, non‑verbal 9‑year‑old boy with Autism and Global Developmental Delay. He requires supervision and structured support to stay safe, regulated, and engaged in daily life. This young boy thrives with routine, visual aids, and calm, patient support. He enjoys walks in the local community, reading, and structured activities.
Responsibilities
* Provide supervision and maintain a safe, regulated environment.
* Support communication using PECS, "Now and Next" boards, and visual timetables.
* Identify emotional and behavioural needs and respond appropriately.
* Assist with personal care and support at mealtimes.
Qualifications
* Caring, proactive, and motivated with a calm, consistent and structured approach.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Experience working with children with autism and developmental delay is desirable but not essential.
* Driver with a full clean licence is desirable.
Compensation
Part‑time position with hours discussed at interview. Hourly rate is £12.21 plus 5.6 weeks paid annual leave and workplace pension scheme.
