In the last 5 years, our services have massively expanded, Now we are a fully equipped car care centre offering everything from tyres and MOT's to complex diagnostics and engine replacements. Along with this, we offer in-house body repair and paint shop. This allows us to offer a complete car care package and enables us to put and keep tip-top cars on the road. We strive to deliver an excellent working environment, ensuring we offer the best level of customer service we can. We have a fantastic opportunity for a Workshop Controller to join our team. The ideal candidate will be currently working as a Workshop Controller in a busy workshop. However, we will consider applications from Technicians who can demonstrate strong leadership and Technical skills who are ready to take their first steps into management. As the Workshop Controller, you will work closely with the Service Manager to deliver a high level of productivity and an excellent standard of first-time repair, while making sure you always maintain a clean, safe and professional workshop. To manage the Service Department to meet and exceed customer expectations and consistently meet agreed business goals. This role would be ideal for an organised, quick-thinking person with previous motor industry experience, looking to develop their career and move into a management role. The ability to keep to deadlines and react quickly to technical challenges is important, and you should enjoy working in a fast-paced environment. Day-to-day duties Managing and coaching a team of vehicle technicians and making sure targets and business objectives are met. Making sure all servicing work is carried out correctly, competently and on time, with customer satisfaction in mind. Working with colleagues to ensure a seamless service for customers. Scheduling work to meet customer needs, the complexity of each job and the availability of parts. Providing estimates for servicing and repairs and setting timescales. Assisting technicians with technical challenges and finding the right outcome. Essential skills Relevant experience in the automotive industry, including previous workshop control or technician roles. High levels of organisation and accuracy. Fantastic interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate well with customers and colleagues The ability to lead by example and motivate your team to achieve their targets and deliver a high standard of work.
