About the roleBased predominantly at our Playford Court, Sheltered Housing Scheme in Sudbury, you may be required to provide cover at other schemes when required. The main duties involve visiting and supporting tenants and helping them to live independently. You will carry out a range of housing related support duties for residents of sheltered housing schemes, including:welfare calls to residents, identifying and arranging additional support if requiredrespond in an emergency to residentsmaintain accurate and up-to-date recordscomplete support plansweekly and monthly Health and Safety inspections/checksreport any safeguarding issues. You will ensure that the council policies, procedures and risk assessments are strictly adhered to.Reporting to the Sheltered Housing Manager, you will have day to day responsibility for the cleaning staff. About youWe are looking for a dedicated person who is organised, able to manage a varied and sometimes challenging workload and can communicate well, showing empathy and compassion.You will need to have the following:a relevant qualification at NVQ 2 or equivalent knowledge gained through experiencebasic First Aid Certificateknowledge and ideally experience of working with older people and an understanding of their needs and an awareness of Safeguarding issuesIT skills, with experience of Microsoft Office, including Microsoft Excel and Teamsability to maintain accurate recordsability to organise and structure your own working day and work without direct supervisionan awareness of health and safety mattersaccess to a vehicle, and a valid UK driving licence.
