Capability Lead (Nuclear Product Training) - Submarines
Location: Derby
An opportunity has arisen for an experienced and driven Capability Lead to lead a Training Design and Delivery team of instructional designers, developers, and training professionals. You will play a pivotal role in shaping the strategy, implementation, and continual improvement of training programmes at Rolls-Royce Submarines and across the broader Submarines Enterprise. This leadership role is ideal for someone passionate about developing people, learning, and enhancing workforce capability, with a strong understanding of instructional design methodologies and experience managing both people and training project plans in a technical and regulated environment.

Key Responsibilities
1. Lead and manage a team of instructional designers, content developers, and training delivery professionals, including resource allocation and performance management.
2. Oversee the full lifecycle of nuclear product training programmes, from needs analysis to design, development, delivery, and evaluation.
3. Manage project plans, coordinate with stakeholders, and adapt to changing requirements.
4. Support learning governance, including compliance, records, audits, and reporting training impact using models like Kirkpatrick.
5. Stay updated on emerging learning technologies and methodologies to drive innovation.
6. Represent the Nuclear Product Training team in internal and external meetings, deputising for the Training Manager.
Candidate Profile
Successful candidates will demonstrate:
* Proven leadership and management experience in learning, development, instructional design, or training delivery.
* Knowledge of instructional design methodologies (e.g., ADDIE, SAM, Bloom's Taxonomy) and evaluation frameworks (e.g., Kirkpatrick).
* Experience in delivering training in multiple formats (e.g., instructor-led, eLearning, blended).
* Strong project management skills, capable of handling multiple deadlines.
* Excellent stakeholder management and problem-solving abilities.
* Effective communication skills, including engaging with senior stakeholders.
* A degree in Education, Instructional Design, Engineering, or related fields.
