Role: 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant

About the Role:
As a 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant, you’ll work closely with teachers and other support staff to provide tailored support to students with a range of complex learning, behavioural, and communication needs. You’ll play a key part in helping each young person reach their full potential through patience, creativity, and consistency.
Key responsibilities include:
1. Providing 1:1 support for students with additional or complex needs
2. Supporting students in developing communication, emotional regulation, and social skills
3. Assisting in the delivery of engaging lessons and structured learning activities
4. Promoting a calm, positive, and inclusive classroom environment
5. Preparing resources and supporting small-group or individual interventions
6. Collaborating with teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals to deliver consistent support
Candidate Requirements:
7. Experience working with children or young people with SEN (school, residential, or care setting)
8. A strong commitment to safeguarding and inclusive education
9. Confidence in following individual support and learning plans
10. Excellent communication, organisation, and interpersonal skills
11. A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach
12. Team player with initiative and reliability
