Overview
The University of Cambridge's Estates Division is seeking an experienced Management Accountant who has relevant experience in project and property reporting. The role will complement the existing team of Management Accountants who look after the property portfolio of the academic and non-academic activities of the institution that is growing and transforming to become a more sustainable leader in its field of operations. The role reports to a Finance Manager and will work across the Estates Department to support the management team and deliver accurate and timely financial information for budget decisions. The University is undertaking change programmes where financial transparency and systems are under review, and the role will engage with financial reporting implications for sectional areas and the Finance Managers who act as Business Partners for Estates.
The position is suitable for qualified accountants (or qualified by experience) who are flexible within a small team that supports one another and our areas of operation. Responsibilities
* Support the management accounting across the Estates Department portfolio, delivering accurate and timely financial information for Heads of Services.
* Engage with financial reporting implications during change programmes and liaise with Finance Managers who act as Business Partners.
* Contribute to financial transparency and system improvements within ongoing transformation initiatives.
Qualifications
* Essential Skills: Prior knowledge of Sage; excellent Excel skills (testing at interview); attention to detail; ability to use initiative.
* Desirable Skills: Knowledge of accounting in higher education and/or housing sector; experience in implementing a change of finance system.
