Purpose of Role
We are seeking an experienced Planner to play a key role in delivering refurbishment and new-build projects across a diverse range of MOD sites. Working within a secure and fast-paced environment, you will be responsible for developing, monitoring, and managing project programmes from pre-construction through to completion.
You will collaborate closely with project managers, commercial teams, designers, subcontractors, and Defence stakeholders to ensure robust planning, accurate progress reporting, and successful project delivery.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop detailed construction programmes for refurbishment and new-build Defence projects.
* Work with bid teams to produce tender programmes and planning methodology.
* Monitor site progress, update programmes, and provide early warning of risks or delays.
* Facilitate planning workshops with project teams and supply chain partners.
* Produce progress reports, dashboards, and critical path analyses.
* Support project managers with scenario planning, sequencing strategies, and resource forecasting.
* Ensure planning processes comply with VINCI standards and MOD security requirements.
* Coordinate with design and commercial teams to ensure programme accuracy and feasibility.
Essential Skills & Experience:
* Proven experience as a Construction Planner within refurbishment and/or new-build projects.
* Proficiency in planning software (Asta Powerproject, MS Project or similar).
* Strong understanding of construction sequencing, methodologies, and constraints.
* Experience working on secure, complex, or live-site projects.
* Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
* Previous experience within the MOD or Defence sector.
* SC clearance (or eligibility to obtain).
* Knowledge of NEC contracts and collaborative working practices.
