The purpose of this post is to work effectively with the class teacher(s) to support play-based, child-centred pedagogy within primary.

Scalloway Primary School is a non-denominational school located in the village of Scalloway, 7 miles from the main town of Lerwick. The school's catchment area includes Scalloway, Trondra and the Tingwall Valley as far north as Griesta.
There are 7 classes in the Primary Department and a large Early Years and Childcare Department. There are currently a total of 175 pupils on the school and ELC roll combined.
The school is managed by the Head Teacher and two Principal Teachers. The current teaching staff comprises of 5 full-time class teachers and 2 job-shares. PE, Art and Music are provided by peripatetic specialists.

* Rate of pay shown is inclusive of Distant Islands Allowance
* Permanent Part Time post for 17.5 Hours per Week, 39 weeks per year plus paid holiday
* Preferred candidates will be required to join the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme
