Planning Manager – High Voltage Energy Infrastructure
Location: London or Essex (Hybrid Working)
Salary: £90,000 – £120,000 + Benefits (Permanent)
Contract Rate: £600 – £675 per day (Inside IR35)
A leading consultancy involved in delivering major UK energy and infrastructure programmes is seeking experienced Planning Managers to support the successful delivery of large-scale power projects.
This position will play a key role within a high-voltage infrastructure environment, supporting the planning and delivery of complex utilities and energy schemes. Projects typically include substations, overhead line infrastructure, and transmission and distribution networks.
Role Overview
As a Planning Manager, you will oversee programme planning across major infrastructure projects, ensuring schedules are robust, well integrated, and aligned with overall delivery strategies. You will work closely with project teams and senior stakeholders to ensure effective planning processes and reporting throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage and oversee project planning activities across major infrastructure programmes
* Develop and maintain integrated project schedules
* Provide schedule analysis, reporting, and progress monitoring
* Coordinate planning functions across multidisciplinary teams
* Ensure planning outputs support project delivery and programme objectives
Candidate Requirements
* Proven experience as a Planning Manager or Lead Planner within infrastructure or energy sectors
* Strong experience working on high-voltage projects such as substations, overhead lines, or transmission and distribution networks
* Experience managing planning teams or coordinating planning across large-scale programmes
* Strong understanding of NEC contract frameworks
* Previous experience within contractor, utilities, or consultancy environments
* Advanced proficiency in planning software such as Primavera P6
