a highly motivated and experienced Senior Recovery Nurse Practitioner to join our friendly team in Hey Groves Theatres, at Bristol Royal Infirmary
The ideal candidate will be skilled and experienced in Post Anaesthetic care.
HGT Recovery is a small, friendly unit with a real passion for delivering the highest standards of care. We have 9 bays theatres; 2 in our Surgical Day Case Unit and 4 in our Main Theatre Unit.

Are you an experienced Recovery Band 5 Nurse/ODP or are you someone who is interested in a change of direction within your career, then please apply! Recovery or critical care experience essential.
The main theatres in Hey Groves is a 9 bedded recovery unit which covers emergency service over a 24 hour period. As well as this we also have a range of elective activity such as:
1. Trauma and orthopaedic and Limb Recon
2. Maxillo Facial trauma
3. GI Surgery (lower and upper GI)
4. Thoracic surgery
5. Hepatobiliary surgery
This is a full time post 37.5 hours a week, including nights and weekends

To be proactive in supporting the nursing team and acting as a positive role model always promoting best clinical and professional practice.
Act as a clinical expert providing specialist knowledge and advice to both nurses and junior medical staff working within the unit. Act as a resource to other areas within the Trust as required.
Manage patient care according to agreed policies and protocols, taking appropriate action, seeking advice from other members of the multi-disciplinary team as necessary. This will include identification of risk (clinical, health, safety and security).
Actively participate in and facilitate ward or departmental projects, audits and quality initiatives in collaboration with senior staff to ensure they meet standards and targets for example the safety thermometer and patient experience surveys, and where appropriate suggest any change to improve standards.
