We are seeking an experienced and hands‑on Production Manager / Production Controller to oversee day-to‑day manufacturing operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing 4 – 5 production staff, coordinating production scheduling and machine configurations, and ensuring that all raw materials, parts, and components are available to meet production targets. This is a key role within the business, requiring strong organisational skills, technical understanding of production processes, production scheduling and the ability to communicate effectively across departments.
Production & Planning
* Plan, schedule, and coordinate production activities to meet stock levels and specific sales orders. Manage production schedules.
* Monitor production output, ensuring stock levels are achieved efficiently.
* Maintain accurate production records and reports for management.
Team Management
* Supervise and support the production team on the shop floor.
* Ensure compliance with health & safety policies and standard operating procedures.
Materials & Inventory Control
* Responsible for the ordering and timely availability of raw materials, parts, and consumables.
* Liaise with suppliers and the purchasing office, to ensure deliveries arrive when they are required.
* Monitor stock levels and forecast material requirements in line with production schedules.
Continuous Improvement
* Collaborate with the engineers to resolve production issues.
Qualifications
* Proven experience as a Production Manager, Production Controller, or similar role within manufacturing.
* Strong understanding of production scheduling, material planning, and workflow optimisation.
* Excellent organisational and communication skills. Ability to manage and motivate a team effectively.
* IT literate, Excel and compatible spreadsheet software.
* Strong attention to detail and a commitment to continuous improvement.
* Understanding of health & safety and quality standards in a production environment.
Compensation & Hours
* Salary of between £35,000 - £40,000 doe
* Working hours: 08:30 – 17:30
