We’re looking for a skilled Mechanical Fitter to join a growing engineering team building bespoke automation and conveyor systems.
This isn’t repetitive production-line work. You’ll be assembling well-designed, custom-built machinery from detailed drawings — taking real ownership of your work and seeing projects through from workshop build to on-site installation.
With paid overtime, early Friday finishes, and international travel opportunities, this role offers variety, responsibility, and long-term stability.

What You’ll Be Doing
* Mechanical assembly of bespoke automation and conveyor systems
* Fitting frames, guards, bearings, shafts, drives and precision components
* Building medium-sized assemblies and sub-assemblies
* Installing and setting up pneumatic systems (valves, cylinders, actuators, airlines)
* Working confidently from mechanical engineering drawings
* Mechanical fault-finding, alignment and final adjustments
* Supporting installations at customer sites in the UK and overseas
* Carrying out basic electrical tasks where required (e.g. mounting sensors, routing cables)
* Maintaining high standards of safety, accuracy, and workmanship

The Ideal Candidate
* Time-served or experienced Mechanical Fitter / Mechanical Assembler
* 3+ years’ experience building industrial machinery, automation equipment, or conveyors
* Confident using hand and power tools
* Strong ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings
* Pneumatics experience is advantageous
* Able to work independently and as part of a team
* Takes pride in producing high-quality work

Travel & Working Pattern
* Based in Cheltenham
* Travel approximately 30–40% of the time
* Around 6 trips per year
* Typically up to 2 weeks away at a time
* UK and international projects including USA and Canada
All travel includes hotel accommodation, daily allowance, and overtime pay.

* Full UK driving licence (maximum 3 points)
