Play a key role in planning and delivering complex, high‑profile programmes. Our client has a requirement for a Planning Engineer / Senior Planning Engineer, who will be required to work on a contract basis in Whitehaven. Role Purpose: Support the successful delivery of complex project scopes through effective planning and programme control. Provide accurate, integrated schedules and performance insight to enable informed project decision‑making. Ensure planning activities align with contractual, regulatory, and delivery requirements. Job Role Responsibilities: Develop, update, and maintain full lifecycle project schedules using Primavera P6, ensuring alignment with delivery milestones and objectives. Produce and maintain programme‑level tactical and delivery plans. Collaborate closely with Project Managers to support forecasting, progress reporting, and scenario planning for change control. Generate resource profiles to support effective deployment and utilisation of resources. Produce and interpret Earned Value Management (EVM) metrics, including performance and variance analysis. Ensure compliance with NEC 3/4 contractual requirements and utilise CEMAR for contract management activities. Attend regular progress and review meetings, providing insight into programme performance and critical path impacts. Experience / Skills / Knowledge / Qualifications: Minimum 3 years’ experience in a project planning role within engineering, construction, or nuclear environments. Strong working knowledge of Primavera P6 and recognised planning methodologies. Proven experience producing cost‑loaded and resource‑loaded schedules, progress updates, and performance reporting. Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with a proactive, can‑do approach. Must hold appropriate Security Clearance and be a Sellafield pass holder. Experience with Integrated Work Management (IWM) is desirable. Benefits: 12‑month contract with long‑term programme exposure. Opportunity to work on a complex and highly regulated programme.
