About the role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Service Support Officer to be recruited into the Corporate Service Support structure for a fixed term period until 31st March. Corporate Service Support provides an agile administrative support function to various teams in the Authority. This role will have a particular focus supporting a team within the Council’s Through Age and Wellbeing (TAW) model, which aims to transform the wellbeing and safety of the people of Ceredigion.
About the Role:
The Service Support Officer will be a part of the Integrated Community Equipment Stores team, which arranges the delivery and installation of specialist health equipment and supports those most in need of care and assistance. A key part of this role will involve working closely with the team to update systems and catalogues as well as assisting with improving administrative processes.
You will be expected to undertake various administration duties, including dealing with telephone calls, inputting and extracting information from IT systems, handling incoming and outgoing correspondence, minute taking, as well as many other activities associated with a busy office environment.
About the Candidate:
We are seeking an individual who possesses a minimum level of 5 GCSE’s or equivalent, including English & Maths at grade C or above.
The following qualities are required for the post including:
1. Ability to work within multi-disciplinary teams.
2. Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
3. Ability to analyse the impact of problems and prioritise.
4. Good numeric and analytical skills.
5. Understanding of data security and how that relates to data disclosures.
6. Must be able to handle sensitive information with professionalism and maturity.
7. To work with staff at all levels throughout the authority.
8. Good customer care skills; diplomacy, tact and ability to resolve conflict.
It should be noted that the responsibilities of the post holder require the successful candidate to be based at the Ceredigion Independent Living Centre, Felinfach for the full working week.

We play a key role in ensuring the smooth and efficient management of the decision-making process of the Council, including support and advice to Councillors; PA, administrative and project management support to all service areas; facilitating elections; the communications team; translation and the Welsh Language policy officer.
