At Heath Consultants, safety, innovation, and service are at the heart of everything we do. We are hiring for a Controller to join our Accounting and Finance team! The Controller is a key leadership position responsible for overseeing the financial operations of the organization. This role ensures the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting and compliance with all regulatory requirements through a comprehensive set of controls. They will work closely with senior management to develop financial strategies that support the organization's goals and objectives.
Candidates MUST be local to the Houston, TX area near Hobby Airport or be willing to relocate to Houston to be considered as this is a HYBRID ROLE.
Key Responsibilities:
* Team Leadership: Lead and mentor the accounting team, providing guidance and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
* Strategic Vision: Establish departmental goals and provide leadership with guidance on financial objectives, policies, and actions for both the short and long term.
* Collaboration: Facilitate and drive cross-functional collaboration, ensuring seamless integration and coordination between departments.
* Internal Controls: Develop and maintain robust internal controls, policies, & procedures to safeguard the organization's assets and ensure the accuracy of financial information.
* Financial Reporting: Oversee the preparation and presentation of financial statements in accordance with GAAP and other regulatory standards.
* Financial Analysis: Perform detailed financial analysis and account reconciliations to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.
* Compliance: Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations, including tax reporting and filing requirements.
* Audit Management: Coordinate with external auditors to facilitate annual audits and address any findings or recommendations.
* Perform other duties as requested by the Vice President of Finance/CFO.
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:
* Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required.
* CPA preferred.
* Minimum ten years total accounting experience.
* At least five years in supervisory position.
* Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and develop a high-performing team
* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
* Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities with keen attention to detail.
* The ability to think strategically and provide insights that drive business decisions and growth.
* Manufacturing accounting experience preferred.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office with advanced Excel Skills.
* Experience using EPICOR.
Salary: $175,000+ annually
