Head of Data
6 month Fixed Term Contract
Remote with some travel across the UK
Plan B Talent Ltd are pleased to be supporting a high-growth performance improvement business serving the hospitality, foodservice and procurement sectors in its search for a Head of Data for the UK & Ireland region. The successful candidate will be responsible for shaping and executing the UK data strategy in alignment with a wider European Data Transformation Programme.
In this role you will act as the local data lead for the UK market, working with Commercial, Finance and Operations teams, and collaborating closely with the European Data Office. You will enable the business to leverage data to improve performance, enhance supplier/client visibility and drive operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
* Define and deploy the UK Data Roadmap aligned to a European Data Factory and governance framework
* Oversee local data operations: ensuring accurate, timely and compliant data across CRM, supplier and financial systems
* Partner with business leaders (Commercial, Finance, Marketing, Supplier Management) to translate business priorities into data use-cases and actionable insights
* Drive the adoption of common data models, KPIs and reporting standards at the UK level
* Collaborate with the European data team to industrialise data pipelines, dashboards and automation initiatives
* Monitor data performance and quality through defined KPIs and governance controls
* Present data insights and transformation progress to executive stakeholders
1. Your Profile:
* Significant experience in data management, analytics or business intelligence, ideally within procurement, hospitality, retail or a related operational environment
* A proven track-record of leading data initiatives in a complex organisation, from business need through to insight and automated solutions
* Strong expertise in data governance, data quality, master data management and data cataloguing
* Hands-on experience with data technologies such as Azure (Data Lake, Databricks, Azure Functions), Power BI, Salesforce, SQL with the ability to challenge and validate data models
* Comfortable in translating business KPIs (e.g. supplier performance, savings tracking, profitability) into governed, actionable datasets
* Skilled in stakeholder management, able to engage senior commercial, finance and operations leaders and translate technical concepts into business language
* Strategic mindset, pragmatic delivery-oriented approach, and ability to thrive in a matrix environment bridging local and European data functions
* Fluent English (French language skills an asset due to European collaboration)
